Oops totally miss-read that, got caught on nexus 4 obsession.

Sometime next year. Auction for 4g network space not started yet.

They are fighting for it to be as soon as possible, but realistically, by this time next year it should be up and running like (if not better than) their 3G network.

Doubt it will be as widespread as that so soon.

At least they aren't messing around pushing Edge as a viable technology this time around...

I don't think they'll try and push edge again. They'll probably push something else when 4g launches to make up for the poor coverage.... like....

250mb 4G + superfast 5GB BT Openzone!!!! (For when you're not in a 4G enabled City/don't live near that one mast 10 miles away that has been upgraded to 4g/have run out of your huge allowance)

Honestly, I think it'll be a good 5 years before 4G is a viable technology at an acceptable price point. Which isn't really an issue, as I couldn't give a toss about 4G. I've never needed to download something big/stream HD video so badly that it couldn't just wait until I'm at home with my truly unlimited, far faster than 4G will ever be, fibre optic broadband connection and 5Ghz Wi-Fi network.
