That headline might’ve raised a few eyebrows, but don’t worry: we’re not talking about the Huawei Ascend D1 Quad (the D1Q) or the Ascend P1 S (the P1S).
Nope, O2 will exclusively stock two decidedly more modest chaps. They are the Huawei Ascend Y 100 and the Huawei G 7105.
The Huawei Ascend Y 100, firstly, is an Android-rockin’ handset with a 2.8in display, 2MP rear camera and video recording at 30 frames per second. In the captain's chair, we have Gingerbread (Android 2.3).
The Huawei G 7105 (really?), on the other hand, is a touchscreen feature phone, with a 2.8in display, 1.3MP rear camera, 4GB of internal storage and Bluetooth connectivity. Opera Mini will handle browsing duties.
You can pick up the Huawei G 7105 from today. It’ll set you back £39.99, and is initially available in white with a pink model dropping at a later date.
The higher-specced chap, the Huawei Ascend Y 100, will follow on June 1. It’ll cost £79.99, or nowt on a £10 monthly contract. It also comes with a free custom back cover thingy.
Those names need a bit of work, Huawei. “Hey, what kinda phone is that?” “Oh, it’s the Huawei Ascend Y 100.” “O......k?”
