October’s Microsoft Build ‘not to be missed’

October’s Microsoft Build ‘not to be missed’It’s almost that time of year again, peeps. We've had Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Google I/O, and now Microsoft has announced the date for this year’s Microsoft Build event.

The action gets underway on October 30 and runs till November 2, and – needless to say – Microsoft promises it’s gonna be a good ’un.

Of course, that’s just a few days after the official Windows 8 release date, which we recently learned will be October 26.

At Microsoft Build 2012, Ballmer & Crew will talk all things Windows, including Windows 8, Windows 8 RT, and Windows Phone 8, among others.

“This will be unlike anything we’ve held on our corporate campus in a long time,” begins Microsoft’s Tim O’Brien. “Most of the speakers and participants are from our engineering teams, so a campus event puts you in the thick of things along with the engineers directly responsible for our products and the platform opportunities they represent. This one’s not to be missed.”

At last year’s Build, Microsoft released the Windows 8 Developer Preview, and 5,000 attendees received a free Samsung-built Windows 8 tablet.

Registration for Microsoft Build 2012 opens on August 8.
