More that there are several stages of the auction, they only said it would start in January.

Yes. So?
It's not like buying a charger from eBay... A lot of brown envelopes need to be opened...oops, sorry, I meant merits must be assessed etc.... It takes time.

Mind you I guess reading isn't a strong suit as you pretty much asked this last month..

Yes I can read :p Just thought we might've heard something. Maybe no news is good news?

Pondlife  Feb. 4, 2013 at 13:29

More that no news is entirely expected at this stage.

No news, apart from 3 have said they won't be charging extra for 4G access, which is nice, if slightly irrelevant.

'Tis true

That would arguably be charging more though..
If they do stick to not raising price on any tariff though, I'll take the 300m, unlim texts and unlim internet for £15 on p&go for now please. :)

But would it? Free is free is free... I'm sure they'd get away with it. They always do.

The rollout and density of the network will be key anyway

Not really expect it'll fall by the wayside all the same.

They reckon 80% population coverage by the time they activate 4G, pretty good if it's true. My contract runs out on March 19th, definitely some thinking to be done before then...

You sound sceptical (as usual), but Three actually have really reasonably priced plans over here in the UK. They're not known for ripping people off, just for having questionable customer services.

I'd take Three over anyone other than T-Mobile any day of the week. That said, when it comes to 4G, T-Mobile will never offer it, so Three will take the crown, well, for me anyway.

Sounds good but then they probably claim that and more for 3g and yet people grumble about not being able to get signal. Personally I find them fine and haven't had to worry about their CS.
Not sure how much we'll know by then.
