There’s a whole host of OS updates – Mango, iOS 5, Ice Cream Sandwich, Symbian Belle and Bada 2.0 – on the horizon, and Microsoft is right at the front of the queue.
After weeks and weeks of speculation, Microsoft has officially confirmed that Mango – first unveiled back in May and promising 500+ new features – will roll out in a week or two.
Writing on the appropriately named Windows Blog (it does what it says on the tin), Eric Hautala says: “For months, we and dozens of our partner companies have been laying the groundwork for the Windows Phone 7.5 update—and making solid progress. As a result, we now expect to start rolling it out in the next week or two.”
There’s good news for those who’ve backed Windows Phone 7 from the start, as “every Windows Phone” will get the Mango treatment.
Eric warns that folk should “steer clear of bootleg updates and homebrew tools” and stick with the one true path, namely Zune.
