One Click Root for the AT&T HTC One X Here's one for the US Mobotniks! Thanks to an exploit discovered by sparkym3, your AT&T HTC One X can now be rooted using a very simple ‘One-Click-Root’ method!

Usual rules apply. Your phone’s warranty will be voided and Mobot takes no responsibility for any damage caused to your device! Your phone may be wiped so back up anything important.

You’ll need the following files:

Install the device drivers for your HTC One X and then extract the contents of to a directory on your C drive, name this directory ‘HTC-ONE’.

Make sure your phone is in USB debugging mode by:

‘Settings’ > ‘Developer Options’ > Make sure ‘USB debugging’ is ticked

One done connect your HTC One X to your PC via USB and go into the HTC-ONE folder you created and extracted files to earlier and either:

  • Double click root.bat if you’re on Windows,
  • Double click if you’re on Linux
  • Double click if you’re on a Mac

Can this be done for the UK Vodafone one?
I really want to root this thing to stop adverts and excessive unnecessary data!

No this is for the AT&T HTC One X, it is a completely different model.

The UK HTC One X can be rooted there's guides on XDA. Easiest option is to install ClockwordMod using this guide then use it to install SuperUser.

It's a bit techy so I may write an guide in the near future.
