OnePlus One Lollipop update coming February?

OnePlus One Lollipop update coming February? The “Flagship Killer” OnePlus One was, er, one of the smartphone hits of 2014, and the obvious question at the moment is: “Where’s the OnePlus One Lollipop update?”

An alpha build was unleashed at the end of December as a “sweet start” to 2015, and now we’re hearing that an official – and stable – OnePlus One Lollipop update might arrive next month.

For those desperate to get their hands on the OnePlus One Lollipop update, the alpha version is openly available, but comes with a series of warnings about installing custom ROMs, and a list of known issues.

As such, it’s definitely worth exercising a little patience for the official OnePlus One Lollipop update, and indeed you might only have a few weeks to wait.

"OnePlus is a startup just like us," Cyanogen’s Steve Kondik tells Android Central, the OnePlus One of course shipping with CyanogenMod 11S.

“I'm not sure our long-term visions are necessarily converging based on the conversations we've had, but we're still going to support the [OnePlus] One. We're still behind them for this device, with plans to ship (Lollipop) next month, and I have no idea what the future holds beyond that."

OnePlus seemingly declined to comment, but it certainly sounds like the official OnePlus One Lollipop update might arrive sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed.
