Any online retailers for phones that accept payment by cheque/draft?
I inherited a deep-seated distrust in all things 'bank' - and so I have no credit card (and no debt ), but I wonder if any online retailers accept cheques? I know shop Ireland do (they are basically Amazon's irish shop facade), but they don't deliver phones to Ireland.

Have you considered one of those pre-paid Visa cards? I think there are some that you can "top-up" at the post office or a paypoint, not sure about in the south of Ireland though. If you were ablke to get one of those, then you should be good to buy anywhere.

Tried them once, but there are disadvantages - getting over a purchase limit, and refunds are complicated, plus I'd be dealing with the same banks I don't want to deal with (though anonymously, at least)... but yes, 3V cards are available in Ireland.

What about paypal, could that be an option for you? You can top up your paypal account with a certain amount, then go on to spend that money elsewhere.

That's an idea, I guess... now they just need to make up with Wikileaks. Thanks, will think about it
