OpenMobile - Android apps coming to Nokia N9 after all?

After the hopes in Alien Dalvik and OpenMobile's ACL seemed to have been in vain thanks to deals with OEMs, it seems there is still a future for Nokia N9 owners who dream of running all those Android apps on their Lumia lookalike.

Look at the comment by OpenMobile from June 12th: http://openmobileww.com/blog/2012/06/01/acl-for-meego-update/ - just a stick and carrot maybe, but maybe not?

I thought the N9 could run ICS, negating the need for any kind of workaround to get Android apps running?

Nitroid for N9 is pretty much a one-man project. It's still nowhere near 'usable'... And really: Why dual-boot, if you can run Android apps inside Maemo/MeeGo :p Android is so last year.

Why dual-boot
Because ICS (when running properly), is the better, more usable and more stable OS. MeeGo is primarily an OS for people who are trying a little too hard not to be "mainstream". I know it's improved since the N9's release, but it's hardly got the same level of development behind it as Google give to Android.

Cause it doesn't need it :p

Hahaha... just kidding. You're right-ish. The problem is: the N9 UI is really growing on me. Damn, it's lovehatelovehate... But at the moment I'm mostly using the N9. There's something really intuitive about it. So intuitive, it took me a while to realise o_O

But, yeah, I admit an urge to not be mainstream. I hate Android more and more. iOS is still unacceptable, too. I have no idea WHAT WP is supposed to be. So? Me go MeeGo... (until my Pre 3 is fixed at least)
