We’d love to believe that Chinese manufacturer Oppo’s declaration that the “Find 7 are coming” was a typo, if only for comedy purposes, but supposedly it’s entirely intentional.
In what looks set to become a new tradition for smartphone flagships this year, the Oppo Find 7 will supposedly touch down with two different resolutions on offer, both very much HD.
That’s the good word out of China, with independent confirmation from sources of Engadget.
The story is that the Oppo Find 7 will arrive with a choice of 1080p or 2K Quad HD (2560 x 1440) resolutions. As I’ve mentioned before, that latter resolution equates to nearly 3.7 million pixels in the palm of your hand. Take a second to think about that.
Of course, Oppo has already confirmed via its #AlwaysImprove campaign that we’ll see a 2K Oppo Find 7.
Interestingly, there could be other differences between the two models. The 1080p Oppo Find 7 looks set to carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, while the 2K model could be one of the first smartphones in the world to rock the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805.
The promotional image above suggests the Oppo Find 7 launch will go down on March 19. Er, not sure what “798” means, but the Oppo Find 7 are indeed coming.
