Oh gawd, we’re back to all this “world’s thinnest” nonsense, specifically the world’s thinnest LTE smartphone. Because that’s exactly what the world has been crying out for, right? “I love that phone, but it’s a millimetre too thick,” is what no one has said, ever.
Anyway, yes, shortly after making the Oppo N1 mini a real thing, the Chinese manufacturer is back with a little something called the R3.
Browsing over the Oppo R3 spec sheet, it’s a mixture of fairly underwhelming and completely fine. Worth remembering, obviously, that not everyone can afford a big wallet-punching flagship.
Oppo R3 specs include a 5in 720p display, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter for selfies, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage (augmentable via microSD), Jelly Bean Android 4.3, and a 2,420mAh battery.
At 6.3mm, the Oppo R3 is quite possibly the Chinese manufacturer’s thinnest phone to date, while support for China-flavoured LTE supposedly makes it – again – the world’s thinnest LTE smartphone.
With Oppo R3 price set at 2,290 CNY, that’s roughly £220 in our money, though the chances of the World’s Thinnest Smartphone With LTE making its way over hereabouts are slim to none.
