Stockholm: more city-based action from Orange

Orange appears quite content with its city-based naming convention, what with the massively popular Orange San Francisco, the QWERTY Orange Rio, and more recently the Orange Barcelona.

Now it’s set to add to that portfolio with the Orange Stockholm, which it describes as “an amazing smartphone at an amazing price”.

I used to live in Barcelona for a bit, and returned in February this year for Mobile World Congress. What does that have to do with anything? Well, Orange has only gone and announced a new phone called the Barcelona.

Of course, this isn’t the first phone Orange has named after a major city. There’s also the massively popular, Android-rocking Orange San Francisco, and the QWERTY-toting Orange Rio. This new guy fits somewhere in between.

Orange launches Rio II budget QWERTY

“The party is back in town,” or so Orange reckons, with the launch of the successor to its BlackBerry-style Orange Rio. Rather predictably, it’s called the Orange Rio II. What else?

The original ZTE-manufactured Orange Rio was a budget candybar QWERTY effort. The new Orange Rio II is much the same idea, but - spec-wise - bigger and better.
