We're really excited to see Panasonic return to mobile land - and it's arrived fully in Germany with the much-anticipated Eluga finally going on sale in Germany.
Britons can expect to get it from next Tuesday (April 24) - at least, that's the date Expansys is slating . It'll be a fairly reasonable £364.99 at the moment.
Specs wise, it's lagging behind the latest frontrunners in the sense that it ships with Android Gingerbread 2.3.5. Not that there's anything to be ashamed of there but Ice Cream Sandwich would have been a better offering. Luckily, that upgrade is coming.
Other than that, it's a bit of a belter with a 4.3-inch qHD display (and Panasonic does make great displays), HSPA+, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and NFC.
For the snappers among you, there'll be a not-too-shabby 8MP camera around the back to play with and it should put in a fairly sold performance with 1GB RAM, 1GHz dual-core processor and 8GB memory built in out of the box.
We're really excited to see Panasonic make a return having been big fans in the days of the GD87. Hey, back in 2002 or whenever it was, a full colour VGA screen, VGA camera and polyphonic ringtones was pretty damn advanced.
Hell, we even owned a GD93 before that - and that was a a phone with a screen that let you pick from several different colours. And it had WAP.
Quite frankly, who needs one of these new babies? Get thee to eBay pronto and let's go retro!
