We’re all entirely familiar with South Korea’s biggest players in mobile, namely Samsung and LG, but reserve some space in your internal memory banks for Pantech.
South Korea’s third place in mobile is about to launch a little something called the Pantech Vega Iron, and for all intents and purposes, it sounds very much like the Samsung Galaxy S4.
The Pantech Vega Iron leak comes courtesy of Chinese site MyDrivers, which describes the smartphone as a "Galaxy S4 nemesis!"
Listing Pantech Vega Iron specs, you would indeed be forgiven for thinking we’re describing Samsung’s latest flagship.
For starters, Pantech Vega Iron specs are said to include a 5in 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, and a 13MP rear camera. All sounds quite familiar, right?
On the poop side, the Pantech Vega Iron battery is a tad smaller at 2,150mAh (compared to the Samsung Galaxy S4’s 2,600mAh), and it’s not quite the latest version of Android (Jelly Bean 4.1.2).
However, there are rumours that the Pantech Vega Iron might in fact rock a Snapdragon 800 processor. If true, it’d be one of the first devices in the world to do so.
We’ll find out the full story on Thursday.
