What do people think of the Cliff Theory

I've written about it here What do people make of it, are Apple cushioned if they fell, what other industries have the same issues?

Why no reference to Tomi Ahonen? No link? [apologies; saw it now]

There is a link

Also he's referenced in the graph?

Sorry, I missed that.
My problem:
Watching how Nokia deal with the Cliff may be interesting, the company has partnered with Microsoft and as you may recall from my report from the best of MWC 2012 Nokia arguably stole the show with their 41MP camera. Whether this will be enough for Nokia will be of interest, particularly for Samsung and Apple who now find themselves with very high market shares and may wonder too close to the Cliff at any time.

Microsoft and Nokia teamed up to make WP devices. The 8o8 is not a WP device. For an article's final paragraph that is quite some flawed logic. No?

Also, Apple are in a unique position as they, basically, only make one phone (at a time)...
And the iPhone/iPads are as much about iTunes as they are about ordinary communications technology.

I know a few people who mainly have an iDevice for the camera or other features completely unrelated to aspects of telecommunication.

What is true, and self-evidently so: every company can hit rock bottom.
I noticed Ahonen's theory on Twitter, and I mainly filed it away for future reference because of the
info re companies that used to be big...

Also, OP, next time either post your thoughts here on Mobot, or link to the original work, in this case Ahonen's...
Because it's April Fools Day, I will let you get away with it, but wait til the boss catches you :p ;)

I never said the 8o8 was a WP device, just that Microsoft and Nokia have partnered up and separately Nokia had the 8o8 up their sleeve.

Sorry for not linking to the original work originally.

No, no... Of course, you didn't say the 808 was WP... But that paragraph started with the Nokia/WP wedding to then quickly drift into 808 territory. That is an odd curve. Although, yes, you have a point because PureView is being ported to future WP devices as we speak - no doubt about that.

The thing with Ahonen is this: he like to hear himself/read himself... He's very verbose. Combined with his attention to detail, he can turn the obvious into a "new theory". Again: I follow him for his encyclopedic knowledge. I do not often fully agree with him...despite our shared hatred for Elop :p
