Will the people who’ve already bought a Samsung Galaxy S II get a free upgrade/exchange for the NFC model?

Has Samsung made any announcements regarding the above?

no announcement, however a payed upgrade will be on the cards i would of thought (they would then resell as a factory refurb), i certainly would not expect a free exchange, they have rushed the galaxy s ii to market, can only lead to bad things which is a shame realy

I can't see a free upgrade being possible. Could be that the NFC model will attract a premium anyways. It's all about speed to market and there's nothing can counter for living on the bleeding edge :/

Has it actually been confirmed that the NFC hardware is lacking in current SGS2s rather than it just not being enabled in the firmware yet ?

Realmatch,
good question, and we have been trying to figure that one out. In fact even some experienced Android devs are wondering, and afaik nobody knows...

i think that the hardware will not even be in place, the nfc as stated, will attract a premium
