What percentage of texts fail?

I imagine the networks aren't keen to publicise but what percentage of texts are thought to disappear into the ether?

Right: Not much reliable info (it's like asking a bank how much money they lose to incompetence, greed and corruptioon... not a penny, Sir. Not a penny)...

Do many messages fail?
On the whole SMS is very reliable. Network failures account for a tiny percentage of messages, less that 1%, and the remaining failures depend on the particular numbers. For a large campaign sent to verified mobile numbers, the failure rate would usually be 1-2%.

The above is from http://www.txt4ever.com/smsFAQ.php - they concern themselves with marketing bulk SMS services, so they have a vested interest in failure rates.

What an interesting question...
And I have absolutely no idea.
In or out - I have to this day not missed a single sms.
Though: I'm not one of those mass texters.
Now I'll have to look into that...
