Fancy some high-end audio goodness to go with your Android smartphone or tablet? Then step this way, as Philips has just announced the first ever dedicated Android speaker docks.
The range comprises a trio of options, all of which feature a Flexidock micro-USB-based connection for charging and docking your Android gizmo.
Apple iPhone users are spoilt for choice when it comes to audio docks, with an endless array of dedicated devices available in all shapes and sizes. Other platforms haven't had things quite so good, however, and have had to make do with the old line in connection to get their tunes on an external device.
Philips has changed that, however, dishing up three new docks just for Androidy types along with a companion app to tie everything together.
The Philips Fidelio AS851 tops the range, offering 30W output and on-board digital sound processing for premium performance. Which is just as well, as the £199 price tag is pretty premium itself.
If that's a bit rich for your blood, £129 will get you the 10W Fidelio AS351, which comes with a Dynamic Bass Boost feature that adds extra punch at the low end.
Lastly there's the £70 Fidelio AS111, which features a 360-degree speaker for modest entry-level performance suitable for indoor use.
All three are available immediately both online and in Dixons group retail stores, so there's plenty of time to scribble out a quick note to Santa ahead of the festive season.
