They're about the same. iPhone just edging out ahead.

I'm happy the battery life of my iPhone 4s. It gets down to about 30-40% after a 16 hours use. My wife has a iPhone 4 and the battery lasts longer than the 4s.

One of the advantages of the S2, is that you can take a spare battery out with you and replace when needed.

Basically if you want a phone with battery life longer than a day buy a dumbphone... if you want a smartphone buy one with the knowledge unless your a light user you will be lucky to see out a day...

The 4S has better battery life with average usage than the S2.

tbf though matt we can all agree one 1 thing. you will need to charge them daily. thats a given.

All high-end smartphones need daily charging if you actually use them enough to warrant owning one. The iPhone just manages a little further into the evening before dying, than the S2 does.

I dunno. i have been playing games loads and music on my sgs2 and it generally lasts till the evening... maybe its all that smut on your phone matt?

Mine lasts until I get back from work most days (unless I've been wasting a lot of time gaming when I've got nothing to do).

Now they've fixed the battery bug the 4S does have better battery life than the S2, though with an Anker battery or the Samsung Extended battery, the S2 would be better. Obviously the iPhone can't have a better battery fitted as the battery is sealed into the phone.

but their is the external battery pack thing which makes it bulkier but gives something like an extra 100% battery life...

typical lawyer lazing around...

External battery pack? Link pleeeease, I'm interested :p.

The Anker battery is the best value, IMO, as it's only 11.99 and gives almost as much juice as the official Samsung extended battery. Another advantage is the Anker fits in the phone with the original back cover, whereas the Sammy one comes with a new back cover as the phone's thicker.

its stuff like this... Juice Pack Air Case and Rechargable Battery for iPhone 4/4S - Black

its hideous but does make the battery last longer..

matt101101 / MOD  Jan. 20, 2012 at 17:19

F*ck me that's ugly. It's also 60 quid, I'd much rather carry a second battery in my pocket if I was going to be away from a plug for ages.

That's beyond hideous, I can't imagine many people ruin the look of their iPhone with that overpriced crap.

Treab  Jan. 20, 2012 at 17:53

personally i reckon its kept in the bag and only brought out when the battery is nearly dead....

matt101101 / MOD  Jan. 20, 2012 at 18:11

You might as well carry a: cheaper, far less ugly, lighter, smaller, just as effective spare battery in your bag. The only disadvantage is you have to momentarily have your phone turned off to swap the batteries over. I'd pay that price to save £48 (Anker battery vs. the expensive thing) and the ugliness.

Umm iphone numpty ;)

matt101101 / MOD  Jan. 20, 2012 at 18:36

I thought you just sent me that as an example, is that thing not available for the S2 then?

Treab  Jan. 20, 2012 at 18:49

their is an s2 variant... which does look much better the one i have seen is actually quite a normal looking case.
