Can anyone use the phone I lost?

I lost my Galaxy Mega 5.8 i9152 installing a new extended battery just purchased from Mpj. Reported it immediately and it was blocked. Now I have a new Galaxy S5 and a new number. Can the old phone be used?

Not in the UK - unless someone clever found it.
Many of those stolen IMEI-blocked devices are 'exported' to countries that don't take part in the IMEI block scheme. Or they are cannibalised for parts. Or dumped.
Or illegally*** sold... I have had long stupid discussions with an Irish Buy & Sell site when more and more IMEI-blocked phones were sold on their site. And when certain posters even placed Wanted ads for "blocked phones".... Sadly, Adverts haven't done anything about it ... As this example from today shows => http://www.adverts.ie/samsung/samsung-galaxy-express-8gb-brand-new-blocked/5219327 If you search for "blocked" on their site, you find more...

*** = I say "illegally" but I'm not sure it is "illegal" - there seems to be a grey zone? Maybe someone else here has more info about the legality of knowingly buying blocked phones to sell them at profit. Obviously the people who buy those phones know they were very likely stolen.
