What phone to upgrade to after Google Nexus 4?

I've been happily using the Google Nexus 4 for a couple of years, but it's getting on a bit! Any recommendations for something similar to upgrade to? I suppose Google Nexus 5 is the obvious one!

The Nexus 5 came out in November... that is like 8 yrs ago in tech :p
Obviously camera quality is not important, so: what do you use most?
It's not as if OEMs reinvented the wheel recently.

Maybe if you list a handful of must have features?

I wouldn't upgrade just yet from a Nexus 4.

I'd wait maybe 4 months or so until the new flagship phones for this year come down in price and the new devices (Note 4/Z3/iPhone) start to come out.

Yes, but the Z4 will be launched 4 weeks after the Z3 at the rate Sony is currently going...

Not worth it yet, the Nexus 4 is more powerful than my Note 2 (though it does have fan inferior battery life) and there's nothing my Note 2 even slightly struggles with. If I was you, I'd keep the Nexus 4 at least until the iPhone 6 and Note 4 have been released, if not until next year's early flagships such as the S6 and HTC On3 (<<< that is a brilliant name, btw) have been released.

Note 3 would be a decent upgrade, get it once note 4 is launched
