Phones 4u to launch 4G mobile network

Phones 4u to launch 4G mobile networkHere in the UK, there’s certainly no shortage of mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), including Carphone Warehouse’s Talkmobile, which runs on the Vodafone network.

Not to be outdone by its rival, Phones 4u has confirmed it’ll launch its own mobile network later this year.

Phones 4u’s venture is called Life Mobile, and piggybacks the Everything Everywhere (Orange and T-Mobile) network.

Life Mobile will launch in 3G form in March, with 4G services expected to follow later in 2013.

"The launch of Life Mobile is a very significant step for the Phones 4U business,” barked Tim Whiting, group CEO at Phones 4U.

"Our customers see their mobile devices as an integral part of their daily lives. LIFE Mobile will enable us flexibility and creativity in designing propositions to give our customers even further choice.

"We will sell both 3G, and later in 2013, 4G LIFE Mobile tariffs alongside our existing network propositions and are confident the new network will play a key role in driving further growth for our business."

There’s no word on pricing just yet, but come March, customers will be able to sign up for Life Mobile contracts in Phones 4u stores, alongside kiosks in Dixons, Currys and PC World and that.

what I want is a VNO that spans the networks and provides least-cost routing, is that too much to ask?
