Apple looks set to give the Google Nexus 7 a spot of bother in the “tweener” category, with the 7.85in iPad mini launching on Tuesday. Probably.
It makes sense, then, that Google should plan a counterattack in the form of a 10in Nexus tablet, and there’s a tad more evidence that said device does indeed exist.
Oddly, much the same thing happened back in June, when a pair of images purportedly taken by a Google Nexus 7 appeared on Picasa.
Now we have a snapshot taken by something called the ‘Nexus 10’, which, according to the rumour mill, is a 10in Nexus tablet (er, obviously), with Samsung being tipped for manufacturing duties.
Rumoured Nexus 10 specs include a resolution of 2560 x 1920, firmly within Apple’s definition of ‘Retina’, and a fair bit higher than the new iPad’s 2048 x 1536.
There’s plenty of Nexus rumour action brewing at the moment, with the LG Nexus 4 and HTC-built Google Nexus 5 tipped for imminent launch.
Google has an “Android event” scheduled for October 29, a week on Monday. A bit early for the Nexus 10? Maybe. Possibly. Probably. But you never know…
