PlayStation Phone launch details confirmed

PlayStation Phone launch details confirmedThe long-awaited Xperia Play is released on March 31, and Sony Ericsson has finally confirmed all the fine details, including the six games the phone will ship with.

The PlayStation Phone will come with six pre-installed games, namely FIFA 10, The Sims 3, Bruce Lee Dragon Warriors, Tetris, Star Battalion and PlayStation One Classic Crash Bandicoot.

As previously reported, a further 50 titles will be available from the PlayStation Suite at launch, including PSOne Classics and reworked versions of existing titles, specially tailored for the Xperia Play’s slide-out controls.

Sony Ericsson’s marketing director David Hilton, who recently described the PlayStation Phone as “cooler than the iPhone” and “probably not as expensive”, says the Xperia Play will be backed by “the biggest marketing campaign we have had in the UK.”

All of the major UK networks will carry the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, namely O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone and 3.

The PlayStation Phone has a 4in touchscreen, 1GHz processor, and Adreno 205 GPU helping those games zip along at 60 frames per second.

I may be totally wrong, but I think this will be a colossal flop. Unless the pricing is really really good, of course. Those 6 games? Hmm... On the other hand, I also don't really care. At ALL :p
