Is there much point in 1080p on a smartphone if you don't watch movies on it?

Is there much point in 1080p on a smartphone if you don't watch movies on it?

I guess the menus might look sharper too, is that right?

Only if you use a magnifying glass...
They are out of true innovations and so they crank up all the usual stuff to max. Whether it makes sense or not... That is my opinion anyway.

I couldn't agree more, the only way you can see the pixels on a 720p display is to hold it a couple of inches from your face, why the hell anyone would realistically need or want to do that (and therefore require a 1080p display) is beyond me.
