Gadgets, gadgets, gadgets. What would we do without them? At the moment I’m typing on my laptop, trying to resist Draw Something on my iPad, and intermittently texting on my phone while kinda watching TV. Just saying.
Anyway, according to a recent survey by OnePoll, the smartphone is the one device we Brits simply cannot live without.
Of the 2,000 people surveyed, 37% said they’d wither and die without their smartphone, a couple of percent-o-units above good old TV at 35%.
Further down the scale we’ve got laptops at 23%, while a mere 3% said their mp3 player would be their solitary gadget of choice.
Only 2% said they couldn’t live without their iPad, though it’s not clear how many of the 2,000 surveyees actually had iPads, know what I’m sayin’?
A whopping 59% can’t bear to be without their mobile phones, keeping it on their person at all times, while 14% admit to taking their phones to the loo at work. That seems quite low to me. Ahem.
Meanwhile, an incredible two thirds of people would answer their phone during a dinner date. That’s just plain rude, man.
