What's the most popular mobile OS in the UK?

What's the most popular mobile OS in the UK? I remember reading something a while back that said BlackBerry OS was almost as popular as iOS in the UK.

Pondlife,
actually, the rumours of the BB rule popped up as recently as last year.
inquisitiveyou,
overall: Android - matt's right.
Of course, one could get all hilosophical about it. And question the people who buy low-end Android phone because the networks churn them out, give'em away for nothing etc...
Are those people consciously chosing Android? Do they care? And if they don't really care, is Android as 'popuar' as it appears, or is Android simply the new 'normal'? The new Brew/Java?
What I'm getting at is this: I reckon a lot of people who buy BBs, buy a BB because of BB-specific features: BBM, BIS, and the qwerty keyboard.
People who stay with or return to Symbian probably value certain Nokia-specific features:
the email client or maps service etc... One could argue that picking a phone because its the new hot thing is a different kind of choice. There's little Android offers that the others can't do, too. On the other hand the others do things/offer services that Android cannot offer, or offers differently...

But alas... who cares? The cows won't ever come home. The popcharts get consumed mostly unconsciously. Vast majority of folks won't miss lady GaGa in 10 years time, and most consumers wouldn't notice if Android or Symbian disappeared.
Many 'experts' even cannot keep S40 and Symbian apart.
And last year some surveys showed the vast majority of people do not know what OS their phone runs. They didn't know what handset model they use (over 60%), and most didn't know if they owned a smartphone or a feature phone.
So, in that light: what does "most popular" mean? It's fodder for the bloggosphere... it's fodder for trolls, shills and fanbois.
In my household are currently 4 phones with 4 different OSs...

Jan, on a serious note, I think you're right. I don't think the average consumer knows anything above the iPhone and possibly the S3. I don't think the name "Android" would even mean anything to a lot of people, hell, I don't think they'd even know what "Android" is.

I think blackberry was a fad as much as anything else has been...

I think all surveys make the public look dumber than they are, as they are from the set of people too dumb to not avoid doing surveys..

And the vast majority of people wouldn't miss lady gaga now.
