Pre 3 pops up on Amazon.de

Pre 3 pops up on Amazon.deAmazon.de, which has a bit of a rep for posting products well in advance, now features the highly anticipated HP – don’t say “Palm” – Pre 3.

The Pre 3 is listed on Amazon.de at €449, which is just under £400 in our money. As you might expect from those whacky Germans, there’s no release date given just yet.

We first met the Pre 3 at HP’s Think Beyond event back in February. HP describes the Pre 3 as a “smartphone for professionals”. Hey - what about us consumeroids? We think it looks rather nice, actually.

The smartphone features a 3.6in 800x480 display, 1.4GHz processor, 5MP camera, front camera for video calling and a sliding portrait QWERTY. The Pre 3 will run webOS 2.2, and comes with a choice of 8 or 16GB of on-board storage.

HP is sticking to a vague “summer” release.

**** them. They promised to release an update for Web OS for Palm Pixi, and then changed their mind.

Yes, I remember that. Poor service :(
Not that every single handsetmaker made a false promise like that at least once...
I'm concerned about a few other things - like, still no way to edit docs; no fix for the disappearing bookmarks 'bug' in 2.1... And give us a jvm, will you!?

Let it come! I'm sick of the "i-toy" and waiting for the Torch 2!
