How can I print pictures from my iPhone? Is it possible with a wireless printer?

Yes, but make sure the wireless printer works with Apple's products. Not all do.
Here's a list http://ipod.about.com/od/usingios4/f/Airprint-Compatible-Printers.htm
That aside: you can connect your iPhone to a PC or Mac; even without iTunes it will be listed as a connected camera, and you can print selected images as you would from a cam or USB pendrive.

you can also use various apps whether the printer is airprint or not, like print n share or printcentral from the app store
