what program can i use to put small videos on my sgs2?

example:
I have about 60GB of TV episodes and I want to put about 20GB on my SGS2.

Is there a program that will:

A) reduce the file size to suit an SGS2 sized screen;
B) automatically format the file to play without issues.

Internet Video Converter is free, has loads of phone compatible presets, and it tackles even damaged and/or incomplete files. You can reduce sound quality to save space etc etc... it doesn't have a fancy UI, but hey. It gets the job done.

A) Probably but I couldn't name one without some research.

B) The stock video player on the S2 is pretty damn good, it supports loads of file types. If it doesn't support the file type of your videos, there's always MX Player, an app that will play pretty much any video file type.

yeah i got mx player and bs player (prefer the latter). I have cars 2 in mkv but it plays really slow for some reason. works fine on the pc (via vls player).

Are the apps decoding using HW or SW? Try using HW, the S2 can easily play even high bitrate 1080p video files. Also, are you using ICS or GB?

Thanks Jan, that'll be useful for me too. I've bookmarked the DL for when I'm near a computer :).

Handbrake is my tool of choice. Can't fault it.

Re: IVC (Internet Video Converter):

Now I need some advice on choosing the correct conversion/transcoding format for videos to use on my SGS2.

Most my files are about 700mb, I would be happy with half that.

I tried transcoding/converting one video but it ended up being too small (155mb). Great for storage but quality was too poor.

I will also be using some of these videos for the kids tablet when on long journeys in the car. Its an Archos 7 Home Tablet. Currently running a custom ROM of Froyo 2.2.

I get the best results with .mkv - Problem is, stock video player in SGS2 doesn't play .mkv ;) But Mx Player does.
I have a look when I boot back into windows what other options there are

I use BS player which hasnt failed me yet (even where MX has).

Just doing a test file now, lets see what size it comes out (originally 700mb).
