Dunno but I was wondering if any other SE phones support PS One games?

There are PS One games on Xperia Play? As far as I know there are only games that are available from Sony Marketplace, which would be ports for Xperia Play.

If you are looking to play PS One games you would need an emulator and actual game rips. I'm not quite sure what is the legality of this method.

I don't think using an emulator causes any legal headache. Apple - for analogy - may go after people INSTALLING MacOS on PCs, but they can't sue you for running it in a virtual environment. Windows can't go after you for running YOUR win ISO in a Linux VM.
If you use your PSOne ISOs, there is nothing Sony or anyone else can do - unless you sell the ISO's or distribute them...
Correct me if I'm wrong - maybe I'll care :p

PS - I mentioned my mate's Xperia Play. Helped him root it etc. I can't believe SE didn't incluse a single game!!! Wtf? It comes with a generous 16GB sd card, but all the "preloaded" games are just download links that only work via wifi? Better yet, one cannot uninstall those links (without root)...
So, any excited kid getting a Play who doesn't have wifi access can't use THE DEFINING FEATURE!!! Hahahahaha..
Well done, Sony Ericsson. ..
I also love how the built in update manager says "your phone has the latest software", but when you use the PC companion, bang, there is an update!
I also love how the backcover looks 2 years old after 2 days, and how the charger cable really makes it impossible to use the playpad while charging :p

Now, apologies, back ontopic...

Crash Bandicoot works out of the box. Everything else that come with the phone is crap anyways.

Any game update usually forces complete re-download. Software update could do the same, not sure. I formatted SD card as it was partitioned with 32KB sectors and I prefer 4KB.

Gotta tell him about Crash ;) we must have missed that - what with all the greatness of the Play :p

There is Star Battalion, some sports game, a few other (don't remember). I downloaded NFS Shift from Sony website - you can get a few games for free from there.

I mostly play Gameloft games copied from Desire HD. Both phones have Snapdragon, so I just copy files over from SD card.
