Purported pic of possible iPad Pro prototype passionately presented

Purported pic of possible iPad Pro prototype passionately presentedIf the rumours are on the money, it’s set to be a big year for Apple, with both the iPhone and iPad reaching new heights. Literally.

While the iPhone 6 displays (yep, two models) will supposedly stretch to 4.7in and 5.5in, the iPad Pro is tipped to measure a whopping 12.9in diagonally, and here we’re seeing what’s supposedly a Pro-flavoured prototype.

Credit goes to Weibo, and needless to say there’s not a whole lot to go on, other than a game of Chinese whispers suggesting we’re looking at an iPad Pro prototype.

It certainly ticks the size box, with the iPad Pro looking like an absolutely colossal beast while held in one hand.

However, the only things visible on the back of the iPad Pro prototype are an Apple logo and the rear camera. Fair enough it’s a prototype, but where are the power, volume and mute buttons, ditto the speaker grill?

Yeah, we’ll take this one with a pinch of salt for now, though it is generally accepted that the iPad Pro will make an appearance at some point, taking aim primarily at the education and enterprise markets.

Apple hasn’t yet announced any new iOS products this year, but – in addition to the iPhone 6 and iPad Pro – we’re expecting an iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, and not forgetting the much-discussed iWatch, the Californians’ first foray into “wearable tech”.

Any idea if the 'pro' will have better features, increased functionality to take advantage of the real estate etc? I can't see any benefit in just a larger screen on a basic OS to deserve the 'pro' label. A pressure sensitive stylus, improved iOS, usb/hdmi/sdcard maybe?

If you want USB, HDMI and an SD card slot then you need a laptop not a tablet.

Don't think that necessarily follows TJ, but they were just random what ifs of "what is it going to offer to make it a professional device"?

Of course, that's assuming the pro moniker is an official apple one and not just thought up by the rumour mill.

Reading other sources, for example shows "With the 12.9" iPad, we think Apple will come up with a new user interface that's more innovative and intuitive, so that input will be as efficient as a device with keyboard" also a keyboard cover, stylus and split screen multitasking.

The only seemingly certain figures are a 2k, then 4k then UHD screen as a natural progression which, in my book, aren't particularly enticing.

usb/hdmi/sdcard maybe?Edit Commentedit

Not ever going to happen ;)
I believe at best we might see (limited) dual-/multi-windows...

more innovative and intuitive What could be more intuitive than a UI that hundreds of millions of people are familiar with? I doubt it'll be 'innovative'. It'll be the same.
With this or that bonus. But they are not going to fork out iOS.
