Three questions about iPhone text messages!

Deep breath! I gave a girl my number last weekend and she sent me a text on Saturday afternoon. I replied but didn't hear anything back which I thought was strange. Why text me so soon but not reply?

So I bit the bullet and sent another message yesterday. Turns out she didn't get the first and was wondering why I didn't reply! We've been texting nonstop ever since, yay!

1. How many text messages aren't delivered?

Does anyone know what percentage of text messages never arrive? It's strange to think how it could affect people's lives!

2. Can you get delivery reports for iPhone text messages?

Blue iMessages are fine, but can you get delivery reports for the green text messages?

3. Can you resend an iPhone text message?

Understandably I'm now paranoid that my text messages are going AWOL. In theory, how would you resend an iPhone text message?

Thanks for listening! ;)

1. No idea, was it an actual text message or an iMessage? Texts are the responsibility of your network operator and nothing to do with the iPhone as such, iMessages are dealt with by Apple.

2. I think you can only get read reports for iMessages as Apple has full control over these and can see when they're delivered, read, etc. as it all goes through their servers. Texts are a different matter as it goes through the mobile network.

3. You can copy and paste your last message and then send again. Or you could tap and hold on the message, select More and then forward it to the recipient.

You can enable delivery reports for SMS. I don't know how to do it on iPhone, please google. You will get an indication when message delivered. Some networks charge extra for this service.
Simply use iMessage or Whatsapp. Both have delivery confirmation.
