Does anyone know a quick way to remove applications installed on Android 2.2 rather than going through the normal menu, settings, etc?

There are various uninstall apps in the market https://market.android.com/search?q=uninstaller&c=apps , but the ones I tried weren't all that impressive. Astro filemanager lets you back up all apps...you could use it, do a factory reset and then restore only those apps you want ;) :p

I need to get rid of quite a lot of small apps but whenever I try to the phoen just seems to hanf with a 'loading' message. Similarly enough, whenever I apply (most) live wallpapers every time I go to usethe phone (slide to unlock, etc) i also get a loading message from htc sense. Would be great if i could disable HTC sense cos i really dont benefit from it that much!

you can disable Sense! In Settings - Apps - All Apps => Find "HTC Sense" and press "clear default"!!! Then when you return to homescreen, you can choose between Android Home (the standard Android home) and Sense!
Sense UI is pretty resource hungry, and as pretty as it is, without it, your phone will be a tad faster.

Thanks JanSt.
I managed to disable HTC Sense. However, I only have the option to use GO Launcher EX. You mentioned the Android one which I dont seem to have so i'm going to install Launcher Pro as it was recommended by a friend. Just hope it doesnt slow the phone down or eat up too much resources.

Android 2.3 Gingerbread has an app manager built-in so you can uninstall by going to Settings -> Applications and then All Applications. If you click on the application it will give you various details and a uninstall button.

Yeah, I found launcher pro quite trouble-free and stable - used it on Desire and Desire HD and Galaxy Tab without any force closings...

We're looking into that - there are still some bugs. That is why the site still shows the 'beta' tag ;) dont worry...it's not you!

It might be because you're refreshing the page after submitting a comment?

JanSt / MOD  Mar. 25, 2011 at 06:58

When you 'submit' your comment, the page refreshes.

Haha there: my post doubled. Once I saw my new comment loaded, I refreshed - post doubled.

I understand the page refreshes when I press submit. I was referring to when you are still on the page (e.g. it has been left open) and you want to refrseh the information. That is when I normally press refresh (to get an update).

you're right. it's natural to do that! It's a bug, and the devs are aware of it as far as I know. :)
