Jeez, at this rate there’ll be no surprises left for Mobile World Congress at the end of the month. Every second story at the moment concerns a new device tipped to make the trip.
The latest handset to spring a leak ahead of the annual Barcelona conference is the Alcatel OT-915, a decidedly BlackBerry-esque portrait QWERTY effort.
Alcatel might be onto something here with the OT-915. There’s really not a great deal of choice when it comes to QWERTY Android handsets, be they portrait affairs or landscape sliders. It’s also expected to have a sub-£100 price tag.
Alcatel OT-915 specs include a 2.8in display, which is the same as the BlackBerry Bold Touch, but with a significantly lower resolution of 240x320. Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) will take the helm.
Electricpig has confirmed with the French manufacturer that the Alcatel OT-915 will be unleashed on the UK, though an exact release date, price and list of carriers remains elusive at this early stage.
If the Alcatel OT-915 takes your fancy, you might also be interested in the Motorola Pro+ or Motorola Fire. I'm just saying.
