Reactions to the Sony Xperia Z and HTC One? Waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S IV?

What are people thinking of the Sony Xperia Z and HTC One? Anyone picking up one or the other? Or waiting till the Samsung Galaxy S IV launch first?

No Android fan, so if I was forced to get one of the 3, I'd go for the ONE - simply for materials and appearance. I'm itching to try the Z's camera.
I disliked the SGS3, so unless Samsung actually introduce something innovative that isn't gimmicky (or just bigger/faster), I shall definitely pass.

I have pre ordered the z but might have to wait for samsung, but still thinking about the one.

I'd definitely wait for the S4, at least see what it looks like and has to offer, even if you don't wait until it's actually available in the shops.

True, it's only 3 weeks. By then the One might be down to £300 :p And maybe Samsung actually come up with a design and build that reflects the greatness that hides underneath?

Haha, true :p, the One X's price dropped like a stone. As long as Samsung don't make it out of glass (possibly the stupidest material to make a phone out of, this side of cheese), I'll be happy enough. Saying that, I have no intention of getting an S4, the N3 or S5 will most likely be my next device.

What's an N3? Oh, Note3? 6.9-inches :p

Will be holding off for a bit. Both look good, but I've not long got the Note 2 and they aren't that much of a step up. If I hadn't bought the Note, probably the HTC One. Looks fantastic. Never been that impressed by Samsung to be honest - only got the Note as it's a bit different.

Next phone? Could be a long way off. If the Nokia EOS is all it's rumoured to be the then that could be tempting. If not, I'll wait for something genuinely revolutionary.

Like the iWatch :p

You laugh now. Give it a year, we'll all be "wrong" about this, much like we were with the iPad.

I should have said evolutionary really. The Note 2 is a nice change from the norm, I'd kinda like my next handset to be a similar change - something offbeat (offbeat... like the iWatch? I dunno, can't see it right now, but it would certainly be out of the ordinary for like... 5 minutes).

Much of the forthcoming models have pointless features, like 1080p 5" screens. Noone could ever tell the difference from 720p.

Yes, and there's more to it than pixel density etc...
I find Sony's "Bravia" screens very poor. Others love them.
I'm not a huge fan of Samsung's super-duper AMOLED screens... others won't buy anything else.
On a 5-inch or smaller screen, there is no need for HD quality clips and movies in my opinion. Pure waste of storage. Yes, you may dazzle your fanboy friends in the pub for 5 minutes... If that is your thing, so be it. Crappy youtube clips look crappy.....
