I've not heard that, though it could well be true. This was written today and doesn't mention it:

i set up a google alert and read it on one of th phone reviews.i dont know what to beleivw and also am a little confused as it dsnt state which country. it said something to do with the make of the pebble blue one.too much info!couldnt digest lol

matt101101 / MOD  May. 27, 2012 at 20:57

Could you link the the article? I might be able to tell you what country the publication that wrote it are from.

The blue one is horrid anyway :p. I'd have the white one with an S-Line TPU case to cover the shiny back panel.

hmmm your right there but dont u think white one will wear out quicker as signs of wear n tear will show more?

I've done some reading, you're partially right. 600,000 blue SGS3 cases had to be scrapped, that leaves millions that are still fine. Also, the issue is expected to be solved by June and it'll only lessen stock of the Pebble Blue S3, rather than push back the release of the phone entirely. As a final point, the issue isn't expected to cause a problem for some UK retailers. Remember, the SGS3 is already available in other parts of the world (aka Dubai).

Not really an issue even if it does. Samsung phones are just screwed together with normal Phillips head screws, the case is pretty easy to replace (especially as the white front panel wouldn't need changing due to the white coloured parts being behind the glass of the display, which can easily be wiped clean).

cool.i suppose i should think about pre ordering then!

matt101101 / MOD  May. 27, 2012 at 21:20

What's the cheapest pre-order price at the moment? I'm not really keeping up with the SGS3, as I don't intend to buy one. The recent fall in SSD prices has been holding all of my technology attention haha :D.

u no the store of Samsung they have in london, they let u fiddle around with both and a lot of people have said that it looks better than.it does in the pictures and that it was way fast,it fits real nice in yhe hand, well obviously not for us,it would be man hands lol and also that they wana leav th htc x/one and rather upgarde to th s3.

the cheapest i have seen it for is 444.99 on amazon i think the seller is 100%. il see if i can give u the link and hey there was a used one for 320!couldnt beleive it but the aeller is new so dont trust it.

matt101101 / MOD  May. 27, 2012 at 21:57

£300...sounds legit :p

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B0080DJ6CM/ref=sr_1_2_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1338152187&sr=8-2&condition=used

Weird, that seems to link to Amazon's homepage. Look at the used, white S3s, there's one from a new seller for £300 haha.

Shid  May. 27, 2012 at 22:22

lol seriously u think its legit?its used though and does not describe anything like if theres any scratches n if its uk version

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B0080DJ6C2/sr=/qid=/ref=olp_pg_new? ie=UTF8&coliid=&startIndex=0&me=&qid=&sr=&seller=&colid=&condition=new

check that link out

Shid  May. 27, 2012 at 22:25

hey i get what u meant, goes to the homepage

matt101101 / MOD  May. 27, 2012 at 22:27

The £300 one definitely isn't legit, you'd just lose £300 :p. The £479.99 one looks dodgy too, it's a brand new seller, how are they realistically going to get an S3 for £480 on launch day? Also, they're charging £10 for delivery so that means an extra £10 and you can have it direct from Amazon (which is what I would do, if it was my money).

Shid  May. 27, 2012 at 22:29

oh my god this is just crazy! the sellers name ia Joseph yvetter and his aelling it dor 260!the sellers profile says jus launched.its uaed apparently but like new.chek it out

Shid  May. 27, 2012 at 22:31

hang on so your saying the private sellers on amazon are scam?dont u think they should be reported then?

matt101101 / MOD  May. 27, 2012 at 22:53

I'm not saying all Private Sellers on Amazon are scamming people, I'm saying people who are purporting to be selling a phone that hasn't even been released yet for barely half its RRP, are scamming people. One of two things is going on, the phone will be stolen to order, but then likely blocked by whichever person/shop is missing it, or the seller may just run off with your money. Either way, you're pretty much stuffed.

There's no legit way to get anything so highly anticipated for half its RRP days before it's even been released.

As for reporting them, I can't prove it. I just wouldn't put my credit card details anywhere near their account...

Shid  May. 27, 2012 at 23:00

oh i see,its better off purchasing directly off amazon then isnt it?

i dont even.know which one is safe which isn't.i still have a lot of fiddling around to do!will u buy it?wt hav u been thinkin?

Shid  May. 27, 2012 at 23:10

you know the person i was tellin u about earlier,i r mailed them and oh my!does sound like a scam!

matt101101 / MOD  May. 27, 2012 at 23:20

It's definitely better to purchase directly from Amazon. I won't be buying any of them, I'm happy with my SGS2 and I want to spend money this month on an SSD, not a new phone.

What did the seller have to say for themselves?

Shid  May. 27, 2012 at 23:25

sent me personal e mail but he sounded foeign.and pretty dodgy.said i goy to reply quik.etc
