The REAL iOS6.x jailbreak. Avoid all fakes.
http://www.evasi0n.com/ <= The real jailbreak site for iOS 6.X!!!!
UPDATE: confirmed release date is Monday 4th Feb! Time? Your guess is as good as any
The evad3rs team Twitter account is:
https://twitter.com/evad3rs There you can follow updates etc...
As I'm typing this, the jailbreak is 85% completed (Sunday 1.30pm, GMT).

NB: This jailbreak took a long time, folks. A LOT of people with many new devices have been waiting for it. So: be prepared for the bottleneck. You may have to try a few times once the downloads become available later tonight or tomorrow.
And when you have successfully jailbreaked, it may take time to download Cydia, and then your favourite apps. These guys do this
on their own time with their own resources. They don't have Apple's or Google's or Amazon's server might.
Be patient. If you can't download Cydia straightaway, it doesn't mean the jailbreak failed - it just means a few million people are trying all at once ![]()
“Yes, Monday is a concrete release date. It's also the only release date we've ever given,” writes the jailbreak expert.
On the evasi0n.com site, the hackers have released an important “read me” note mentioning a few dos and don’ts.
Future users of the jailbreak tool are told to back up their device using iTunes or iCloud, as well as to disable the passcode lock – “it can cause issues,” according to the evad3rs.
As the jailbreak is running, users must be patient and wait for the process to end.
“Be patient while the jailbreaking process is running, don't start iTunes or Xcode in the meanwhile. The best is to not touch the computer until the end of the jailbreaking process,” according to the notice.
Some users might experience hangs or crashes. The team says not to worry. Simply restart the process and, if necessary, reboot the iPhone / iPad / iPod touch.
“If the process gets stuck somewhere, it's safe to restart the program, reboot the device (if necessary by holding down Hold and Home until it shuts down), and rerun the process,” according to the hackers.

Can't wait to bring swipe gestures and multi-windows back to my better half's iPad.
And SB, of course.

Ah, yes... Getting rid of that newsstand icon, too ![]()
Dang, I almost feel like borrowing an iPhone 5 just to jailbreak it. Hmmm.... I just might.
Pondlife Feb. 4 at 14:14
Oh the i5 has gone back then Jan, what's next?

No idea... I'm considering a Pre 3 - have a ridiculous offer, and some of my fav apps for webOS got updates after they had been dysfunct for months. Z10 won't be in Ireland for ages, and price needs to come down. I haven't been able to 'fix' my N9 - since update PR1.3 it's randomly very laggy.
I'd be flexible. The iPhone 5's camera was quite fun, though - I'm a sucker for the cam and iOS photo editing apps. But no way am I getting one.
Maybe an iPod Touch and my old E75 for calls/texts? ![]()

100% - "come back soon".

? I know...
But it's live now. Torrent on TPB works fine, too - not that I would know ![]()

Done. iPad2 - just 1 little problem: after jailbreak is finalised, screen shows a "finding offsets" message and the 'evasion' icon. After 10 minutes I gave up. Powered off the iPad. Ooops. Thereafter, it was the Apple apple only, and neither the jailbreak app nor iTunes recognised the iPad as connected. Ooops, Ooops...
Turned on/off a few more times, and bingo: there's Cydia etc...
JanSt / MOD Feb. 4 at 19:01
Of course: forget about using Cydia for 12-24 hours... total overload ![]()
Stelph Feb. 4 at 20:44
yup, jailbroke without issues but cydia is groaning under the strain, rediculously eash jailbreak tho
JanSt / MOD Feb. 4 at 21:04
Yep. First three or four reboots were a bit slow. But now everything is peachy.
Won't try Cydia before tomorrow. Last time with Absinthe the first 24 hours were a crashfest.
JanSt / MOD Feb. 6 at 02:00
Lots of stressed Cydia repositories, but victory!
Gone is the old iOS look

Pondlife Feb. 6 at 10:56
Impressed that you made something even uglier...
JanSt / MOD Feb. 6 at 12:11
Hahaha it does look better in RL... and there's functionality involved, also.
Icon's weren't my choice - only a handful of themes were accessible/compatible..
I'd have gone for something more subtle.
On the plus side: all tweaks quite stable. No drain of battery juice or RAM - Auxo, DashboardX, Infinidock. Zephyr etc
Shame that 80%+ of Cydia stuff isn't yet iOS6/iPhone5 ready.
But hey: do I care? It'll never be as pretty as WP8 or Donut ![]()
Pondlife Feb. 6 at 12:32
Mmm donuts...
JanSt / MOD Feb. 6 at 12:36
With Honeycomb...

Well, that looks suspiciously like a bad Android skin...
JanSt / MOD Feb. 6 at 13:46
No, it's about 6 sparate tweaks. It doesn't look as bad in RL. And the widgets all scroll as does the dock. Skins/themes pretty much non-existant for iPhone 5, yet. I'll repost when finished just to annoy you - maybe a Touchwiz theme ![]()

TouchWiz isn't so bad nowadays, at least they've toned it down a bit (and made it crazy smooth).
Honestly, I think I preferred the look of iOS before you fiddled with it, especially that clock, that's just nasty.
