Still haven't received the HTC Desire Z Gingerbread update!?

I'm in the UK and have an unbranded original Desire Z (using T-mobile atm). I hear that some phones on the vodafone network have got their updates already.

Does anyone know what's going on wrt to updates for ubranded Desire Z? Have any HTC Desire Z owners recieved the gingerbread update?

HTC Desire Z Gingerbread update
by HTC UK on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 1:04am

Update: 12.07.11

Thanks to everyone whos been patiently waiting for the Gingerbread update for Desire Z. We are in the last stages of testing and plan to start rolling out the update over the air in the coming weeks. It may take a little time to reach all of you across every network but it should have reached everyone by the end of the month.

From what I read by the end of July most HTC Desire Zs should have Gingerbread... oh, well... July 28th today ;)

I hope so, but then again HTC did say we would have got it by end of June ....the anxiety is killing :p ..lol

Same here. Non carrier supplied DZ (currently using Orange Sim), 30th July, nothing.
How on earth Vodafone can be sending it out when us without carrier supplied (locked) phones can't get it is beyond me.
This is my first Android phone, and first HTC. For 10 years I was a loyal Nokia owner until the N97 abortion and abysmal support. It looks like HTC's support/communication isn't much better.
Very likely that CM7 will be installed on my DZ shortly, and HTC will be off of my list when it comes to my next choice of supplier.

Thankslappa... I've come to the conclusion that all suppliers are equally bad nowdays. I love my DZ but wish HTC would have better comms with their customers.

If and when I get another phone, I'll see whats the best choice but I'm likely to stay with Android as I like using it.

We still have tomorrow the 31st - so it could be sent then!?

It came out on 1st August for sim-free handsets. Got mine. Anticlimax as usual.

@iainkirk
Most consumers beg for an upgrade when they don't actually know what the update does, just so they can know they've got the latest and greatest (_;)
