How budget? And: laptop or desktop? Do you need monitor etc?

And no budget pc will have a really good graphics card. And geforce is a range of chips going back ages, some of which are definitely not really good (some never were) or even compatible by now.

Xbox 360 or PS3, you won't get better graphics for less money.

Which doesn't help if the games you want aren't on those...
nor if you need it for other duties too

Then the answer becomes; nothing. You can't get a "really good" graphics card for not a lot of money, and if you did, it'd be throttled by the other sh*t components in a budget PC.

I'd say, if at all, second-hand, maybe...
Re. graphics: is it for games or graphics/photo/video editing?

Yes but which one model etc? It needs a decent graphics card to to hook up the CCTV system with otherwise any PC would have been fine.

It needs to record the cctv?

so, wouldn't it rely on the cctv software? The software I am familiar with, isdesigned to run on any turkey. Back-ups are burned to a disk with player-exe that is automatically created, so that the vids play on any crappy machine.

Well this is a out of the box CCTV set up kit with 6 cameras that has it own software and requires a decent graphics card to run it, i suspect wont work with any othe software?

Yes onto the hard drive.

Does it not state minimum requirements?
I honestly do not think you need a super machine for that. We have 12 cameras on some 7 year old craPC. Storage is all you need to be concerned about. It's not like you'd be using the machine to also run PhotoShop and god-knows-what, is it?

Unless the set up doesn't have the pvr in which case you'd need one of those.

Minimum requirements do say that it requires a decent graphics card, Geforce or equivilent, i've tried the software on a new i5 laptop and it doesn't work.

Explain "doesn't work".
Doesn't install? Doesn't start? Errors?
Those requirements sound really vague. What's the name of the software?
