Can anyone recommend a cheap (contract or used) Android phone?

Looking for something with Android 2.3, a 1GHz CPU and at least 512MB ROM. Ideally something that has descent battery life and has a 4 inch (or above) screen.

If its used then looking to pay around £150.
If its on contract then looking to pay £15 to £20 a month (18 months).

Tempting, but I can get the SE Xperia Arc S (aka SEX Arc S):p for £20 a month on an 18 month contract. Its for my wife and she adores the white version of it as well. She's actually not too keen on the SGS2 (in white anyway).

Seems a little high for the arc s... i wouldn't pay more than 15 tbh.

if you can find it for that price, let me know! ;)

On the used front the original Desire is a great phone with a relatively small price tag nowadays. eBay is probably your best bet there.

Or Amazon marketplace.

Treab, don't let Jan hear you mentioning the Arc(S), you'll get a Jan rant :p.

I don't personally want a Desire but for anyone who want's a great, cheap phone which was built to flagship standards, it's a great buy.

The Arc S may have been a flagship technically, but bar the camera it's average at best as a phone.

I wasnt :p he said his gf was interested so i offered him advice do keep up old boy ;)

i know its hard even remembering your name ;)

The Arc looks pretty but its chassis is really cheap and plasticy, even compared to the S2's which hardly feels premium next to an iPhone 4S or Sensation XE.

I've decided against recommending the Desire, it's an ok phone now, but it'll be ancient in 18 months time.

Saying that, I currently don't have anything else useful to suggest :p.
