Would you recommend the Samsung Galaxy S3?

Would you guys recommend buying a Samsung Galaxy S3 now or do you think its too old? Is it worth paying a bit more extra to get Google Nexus 5?

I'd get a Moto G if you can live without the MicroSD card slot (which I assume you can, if you're considering a Nexus 5).

The Moto G has pretty much exactly the same amount of grunt as an S3, but will be supported for much longer and is, I think, smoother and more fluid in everyday use.

Agree... The SGS3 has a better camera, but it's not exactly a great camera, either. Other than that I found the Moto G more pleasant to use. No fuss, no bloat, And despite the 4.5-in screen hardly bigger than an iPhone in a case.

As to your question - I'd pick the SGS3. But for not very rational reasons :p

The S3 camera is basically the same camera as they used in the now 3 year old S2. It's passable, but far from fantastic. In the S3 it's slightly better than the Moto G, but the Moto G's camera is probably about as good as the S2's.

I can't really comment as I'm used to a 5.5" Note 2, but it does seem very easy to hold and use in one hand.

As for your question, OP, I'd go for the Nexus 5. It's a way more powerful and modern device which will have official software support for much longer than the S3. Also, it's currently on sale for £240 at Carphone Warehouse.
