Refunds for TouchPad and Pre 3 early adopters

Refunds for TouchPad and Pre 3 early adoptersYou can imagine how gutted one might feel having shelled out £400 for an HP TouchPad, only to discover days or weeks later that the price had been slashed to £89. Bummer.

But there’s good news for those who pinned their hopes and dreams on webOS prior to HP’s “discontinuation” announcement. The manufacturer has revealed a cheeky li’l refund program.

There’s some suitably cheesy blurb accompanying the refund announcement. Check this out: “At HP we always think about you! The HP refund program is our way saying thank you for choosing HP webOS.” Bless.

Here’s what you get:

  • HP TouchPad 16GB – whatever you paid less £89
  • HP TouchPad 32GB – whatever you paid less £115
  • HP TouchPad 64GB – whatever you paid less £159
  • HP Pre 3 – whatever you paid less £69

HP employees who used the employee purchasing program, however, will not be eligible.

Wow, so anytime before 23rd August and you get a refund down to £89? What a nice present for all those early adopters :-) Nice gesture from HP

Well double posted by accident so was also goingto say that this wont come as much comisseration to those people who bought at full price hoping for this refund (of which there were quite a few on HDUK I seem to remember)

I notice that the machine had to be switched on and enrolled before August 23rd to qualify for the refund. I think that is going to exclude and seriously annoy all the Amazon purchasers who bought them early hoping to get a refund from Amazon / HP.
