How do I remove homescreens on the Google Nexus 4?
I have five but I don't need them all, thanks.

on the homescreen do the pinch thing, so you see all your homescreens as little thumbs. Delete the one/s you don't want (I think that's how it's done) <== wrong

Can't be done from the stock Nexus 4 launcher I'm afraid. you're stuck with what you've got.
You can however download Apex which can import your current settings, and then you can go mad . It's got much more function that the stock AOSP launcher (including better transitions) and little impact on memory usage (with 2Gb to play with who cares right?)

Apex launcher is okay... Runs fine even on my lame Moto Pro+

No worries. You had me there for a bit til i remembered that I use Apex rather than the stock launcher.
