Remove password requirement for new iOS apps?

Is there any way I can remove the password requirement for iOS apps? Without jailbreaking! :p (Having just read Lewis' article from Wed!!)

I don't understand what you mean?! What password? Where? Is it in Settings => General => Restrictions?

Sorry for the confusion! When installing new apps, even free ones, I have to put in my App Store password. Very annoying! I thought they were doing away with that, for free apps at least

No, they haven't. Afaik, you can dl 2, 3 or whatever many apps in one go, but once the AppStore app shuts down, you need to reenter your pwd. But I haven't used 6.1.3, yet.

Ah, PS: for updates and previous purchases you no longer need to reenter your pwd. I think that led to some confusion - some eager bloggers misinterpreted that...
