asking me to follow a link via the email. I am always a bit dubious about following email links. Has anyone else used this Company?

JanSt / MOD  Feb. 17, 2011 at 12:34

there are a number of companies on the web: unlockingdirect.net /.com, unlockdirect...etc etc...
Do you have a link to the company?
Having said that: the procedure is fairly 'normal'. You gave them your paypal, but are afraid to click on their link? ;)
Please let us know the URL - THEN we can check for you.

Yes, it is. (sorry :) )
I can't find anything outrageous about that company. Now and again they all tend to offer codes for phones that aren't actually unlockable yet. Usually they credit you with whatever you paid.
Good luck :)

Thanks very much for that information. I'll try the link. I'm a bit over-cautious I think.

anthonyholmes1  Dec. 20, 2011 at 10:48

do not use a complete rip of and report them to pay pal or your credit card company and they will get your money back plus if they get enough complaints they will withdraw the use of cards and pay pal
so they wont be able to operate

Don't use unlock-direct.com. No response or unlock code for days. A waste of money dealing with these guys.

Totally useless! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Surprise Surprise....they couldn't get the code for my Samsung Galaxy Ace! Have to wait for 7 days for a refund! They make out they are a big company with an "Accounts Dept"! Just log into your paypal and refund people! I should of read the reviews on here before purchasing!!

I purchased an unlock code for a Xperia T yesterday 8 April. Today I received an email: (I'm Ian from Mobile Unlock Direct. Our system was unable to automatically generate an unlock code for your particular mobile. The good news is this doesn’t mean we cant unlock it for you, it just means we need to get some extra information. With this information I will be able to manually calculating a code to unlock your phone.

Can you please visit this link and fill in the extra details we have requested.
http://www.mobile-unlock-direct.com
Once you have provided the extra information I will manually generate your code and get back to you within a maximum of 24 hours .)

So that's now 48 hours, I'm not very confident about getting this code. If I don't get it I'll open a complaint in the resolution centre, I would advise anybody who has not received their code or a refund to do the same. PayPal can only take action if they know this is a scam and only by highlighting this company can Paypal act. I'll let you know if I get the code tomorrow.

zarkadi  Apr. 10, 2013 at 15:12

it sounds like a fake or a scam. They sent me a code that did not unlock the phone and has only 2 attempts left. They replied and asked various questions and never heard from them since 4 days ago. Stay well clear....

Just purchased unlock code from mobile-unlock-direct.com today (10th) via Paypal too - should have read reviews first. I'll give them the 24hrs as stated then chase a refund as required. Not feeling hopeful at getting code, just like previous post. Will also update on progress to help those seeking reviews before purchasing.

UPDATE 12/04/2013
As expected, heard nothing at all from this company. Interestingly, when I started the process of opening a dispute through Paypal to get my money back, the option of an instant refund from this company is now an apparently new option for dissatisfied customers who have paid via Paypal:

http://www.internet-orders.com/refund/index.php

I entered my email address and within 5 minutes a genuine refund was credited in full back to my Paypal account. The only positive thing is that there at least seems to be some sort of recognition of their own poor service standards and ineptitudes - probably only put in place in order to retain the use of Paypal to make the company appear legitimate.

Final advice though - avoid this company at all costs. Completely incompetent. And even if they did provide a code (which they didn't - couldn't even manage to acknowledge my order with an automated email) I wouldn't trust it to be anything other than a randomly generated number.

Run away while there's still time.........!!!!!

paratrooper  Apr. 14, 2013 at 15:43

They are a bunch of F....ing anchors and should be shot***!!! Please dont waste your time......get refund and bug out. [mod edit: *** = metaphorically speaking, right!]

Loris  Apr. 16, 2013 at 22:49

I have just purchased a code from http://www.mobile-unlock-direct.com but then out of curiosity I did a search on google to check if it was a scam or not. it results that the site is only 90 days old (even if they claim they have unlock mobiles for years) the site is Germany based but servers all over the world or something similar and they don't disclose their full details.

http://www.scamadviser.com/is-mobile-unlock-direct.com-a-fake-site.html

So without waiting the 24 ours I logged into my paypal account and went to the resolution centre. The scam site here gives you details on how to get a full instant refund. So I followed the procedure and got my money back in matters of seconds.

it seams to me that the company is a scam but to protect themselves they offer the option of refund you instantly so people won't report them.

just to keep sure I asked and obtained my money back.

jules12345  Apr. 30, 2013 at 09:58

I had exactly the same thing. Do not use this company, they're corrupt!!! and i just lost out on £3.59, no biggie, but there are honest unlock companies out there!

Geoff45  May. 12, 2013 at 14:06

I had the same problem. They refused to reply my emails asking for a refund. Had to open a resolution with paypal to get my money back.

Timtom22  May. 23, 2015 at 20:16
