return phone to argos due to poor signal

I bought a sim free phone from argos, the signal im getting from vodafone is terrible, it was ok in my old phone, and the signal with o2 on the new phone is fine, I was told when i bought it that i could only return it if it was faulty, does this count as a fault?

Doubtful. You say your Vodafone signal is okay on another phone, and your Argos phone works okay with O2! It's no secret that different phones perform differently. Your chances would be better if it was a network locked device. But it's sim-free.
Sell it.
