Review of the week

Review of the weekHighlight of the week was undoubtedly the long-awaited launch of… *trumpet fanfare*… the Amazon Fire Phone. But if you want one, you’ll have to move to the U-nited States of Americuh, boy, and get yo’self on AT&T.

In comments, iOS 8 to introduce tons of manual camera settings took gold, including Jan scolding me for mentioning that the iPhone has technically - technically - had an 8MP rear camera for years. Yeah, we all know it’s about more than megapixels; let’s not fight.

As for apps, I checked out Archangel (surprisingly good) and VVVVVV (fug yes). Later today, I'll publish a few hundred words about the latest smartphone app phenomenon, Yo.

Next week is Google I/O 2014, where we may or may not learn more about the next version of Android, and possibly meet new hardware.

Until then, happy weekending, tout le monde!

I shall smite you!

My week? Thanks for asking.
Still using the M8. Only thing I like about it is the one thing most reviewers nag up: the camera.
Boom Sound sucks, unless you're used to listening to Husker Du through a 2 ft concrete wall. The OS sucks, but that is propably Vodafone's fault. And what isn't?! I maintain: Android peaked ca HTC Desire HD. Since then it's become a bloated, fiddly cr*p OS.
But I have no doubt Google know exactly what they're doing and why. People, eh :p

PS I meant "cr*p OS" in its most positive sense ;)

Oh... just installed the Nokia Z Launcher on the M8... It's great.
Ironic that Nokia release a neat simple, clean but very efficient Android launcher?
