How does rice help save a wet phone? What's the logic there?!

Put dry rice in a bowl and leave it out overnight ;)
Impatient? Rice is like a moisture magnet. It's a seed. I wants water.

...of course, salt or silicates are more efficient, but rice is the 'greener' option, and salt could get problematic, if, accidentally, getting too close.

Not sure making brine will help, extracting rice from a phone can be tricky enough

Put the phone in a thin sock, or wrap it in a hankie (a real one, not paper tissue)
