How to get rid of newsstand on iOS 5

For many, the Newsstand folder on iOS5 has been a real bugbear, as you’re unable to move it from your home page. You can hide it though, but the method is probably a glitch. Here’s how to get rid of Newsstand: take 2 apps and drag them over the top of each other to create a folder. As the folder is being created, quickly drag and drop Newsstand in there too. You have to have fast fingers. Beware that you cannot use the app now (opening it crashes springboard) – but if you wanted rid of it, then you probably weren’t going to be using it anyway. But, that means it's still in that new folder?

Apple (and all device makers) should let us remove software we don't want. It's very "Microsoft" to force bloat on us, especially on mobile devices with very limited space for apps that keep getting bigger and bigger.

Yeah it's still in the folder, but at least it's not on the home screens any more.

I agree Jan...
